No worries Sharter...of course when I say Project Manager this is a title only. As you experienced Sharter, the last 'project' he 'managed' in Jubail ended in his sacking due to complaints from the client. Given the huge amounts of money LangSols invested in the project he almost single handedly flushed the network down the tubes - sending Krispy on gardening leave in Milan.
It's very odd he's been retained.... I wonder why?? |

He's a yes man, who'll do anything he's told in order to support the Thai wife. That's why Langsols have retained him. I remember him uttering the words 'I don't give a *beep* about what the teachers want' when there was discord in the ranks about having to wait around aimlessly hours after teaching til the sun went down. Nice guy....hopeless decision maker, terrible manager of men and all round TEFL career monkey. QP will bin them in about 5 years and get someone else in pour 'encourager les autres'....you'll see. Langsols know this and don't care. |

More of the same old, same old stuff. Langsols doesn't seem to be much more organized or employee friendly than the last gang. The teachers were dumped on, first by IMTIAZ and now by Langsols. IMTIAZ forced people who had no choice to pay rent while the transition was taking place. The usual outfit - money making smoothoperators who just want to make sure they get a nice big paycheck while the teacher slave away for peanuts. The survivors deserve better. |

Language Solutions are totally disorganised and certainly not employee friendly.
Do they still have their infamous 'gagging clause' in their teacher contracts? That would explain the lack of posts from the supposed 40 or so contracted to QP.
I suggest you all go on strike. |

No gagging clause in the contract any longer. There's 20 native English speakers working at QP right now.
The operation is turning into a bit of a shitshow. No one knows what is happening. QP just got a new top guy who is changing lots of things- none of which have taken affect yet. Lots of chaos among the teachers, no one knows if they are going to fire all the non-native speakers, or perhaps all of us. Lots of people walking around in foul moods. The presence of Lang Sols seems to be just about non-existent, however they have thus far lived up to their end of our contracts. I think most of the discontent among teachers is aimed at QP. Asking people to teach 5 hours a day to one group of 15 rowdy teenagers at 4 different levels is a tall order which would only be acceptable if all the other aspects of the job were quite good with a high level of organization. As I am a positive individual, I'm hoping the situation will improve after this period of transition. Unfortunately most of the teachers here are not particularly positive individuals, so a mass exodus may be just around the corner. |

Sounds as though Langsols are now just a glorified recruitment agency - probably just as well after the Jubail debacle. |

The new apartments are very small. Imagine trying to put a family of 5 in a one bedroom apartment. Langsols is just out to make as much money from QP as they can. Teachers are still not sure about their contracts. They have some sort of temporary contract and maybe in a month or so they might, just might, let them know if they will keep them.
Langsols does not have a good track record for good treatment of staff judging by the posts I have read. Very few Gulagers left and no wonder, they need job security. Langsols just wants to see which way the wind blows.... |

The word is that Lang sols are very much hands off on this....little wonder given their quite horrendous track record.
Small apartments are absolutely the norm for this outfit....just ask those in kuwait. |

Strange comment. When I did a stint for LangSols in Kuwait, the one thing that WAS great about it was the apartment they provided me (and the other teachers on my contract) with. Huge, considering my single status: 2 large bedrooms, 40-foot lounge, 2 bathrooms, balconies, kitchen, all mod cons etc. I won't claim everything was perfect with the contract (though overall it was fine) but the accommodation was the best I've experienced while working anywhere for a contractor - and I've worked for quite a few, good, bad and indifferent. |

Even stranger comment as this observation came directly from a former colleague working for Lang sols there in Q8.
It's good you had time to measure your lounge though. |

Just out of curiosity, why are you going on about living with a family of 5 in the provided housing? The contract is SINGLE STATUS. You'd have to be a sadist or from some thirdworld craphole (sudan, n. Africa) to even think about bringing a family here. LANGSOLS did offer people a housing allowance. To be honest, I'm bored of people knowingly breaking the rules and expecting firms to accept it. Like the feral kids of some of the "teachers" who have already pulled fire alarms and wander around the building. Langsols may not be perfect but, EMPTYASS was worse. The almighty Thobinator Doctor K refuses to get the paperwork together for former teachers from his firm to renew their residency permitr in order to transfer sponsorship. Then again, that legendary potbellied bald Palestinian douchebag who used to sit on his ass while "working" double shifts at the gulag as a liasion between EMPTYASS and QP is now shuffling paper there. This is a job. I'm tired of people thinking it should be some sort of holiday resort or welfare organisation. |

There are always people on these forums with a convenient 'friend' or 'former colleague' who has all kinds of weird and poisonous hearsay which they enjoy repeating ad infinitum. None of it bears much relationship to what those of us who've actually worked there first-hand experienced.
Of course nobody is or was working for LangSols with a family of 5 in a single apartment in Qatar. Any more than those employed in Kuwait were put into sub-standard housing. But that won't stop the aggrieved bleating of those with a personal bone to pick here..... (see below for more of it, in all boring likelihood....) |

seems as though my lounge measuring quip struck a raw nerve there - still an agreeable pastime no doubt for those in Q8 |

Long since left, I'm afraid. But I guess even measuring one's house would make a healthier past-time than having to invent imaginary friends to support one's opinions on Dave's..... |

Obviously not a math teacher. 12,000 dollars saved in 4 months is 3000 a month. |
