Depends on what you are looking for. I liked the Italian Club in Baghdadiya.
And together with my family I used the British Community Library housed in the British Consulate. |

If you want to know where to score some serious drugs I can tell you that too - but not on open forum. I do not want my soul brothers compromised. We Kaledonians stick together ! |

Does anyone attend British or US Embassy activities? Can this be found on their websites?

You are not likey to be invited to anything at the British Embassy. Not sure about the cousins. Unlikely I would have thought given security concerns. |

As a Raytheon subcon, we always got multiple invites to the ex-U.S. Embassy. But my intel was before the attempt to breach the compound by a.q., things may have changed...

This post is more from a girls perspective but I moved to Jeddah just over a week ago and it is great!!! I feel like I've moved to a different world as I lived in Buraidah before then.
I have already been on one of the private beach resorts and am heading to another one tomorrow. Snorkeling, tanning and shisha (apple, grape etc).
You can take a diving course and get certified...
Malls (Red Sea Mall, Mall of Arabia etc)
IKEA (nice to have a meal and wonder around)
GYM (Join one of the many gyms, in a hotel or usually at the back of a hospital) the one near us has a pool, steam room, sauna, a restaurant with wireless and the usual equipment.
I had a lovely breakfast at a place called CRUSTYS this morning but I couldn't tell you where it was... It is cafe where you could sit alone and read a newspaper! Great Ambiance...
Loads of resturants on Tahlia Street and Al Andalus Street...
The Jareer Bookstore with Starbucks attached (I have been to a few but one of them had much more than the others) to it has a huge English book selection and if you buy SAR200 worth of books you get a SAR50 voucher free... All the big fiction writers are available!
Obviously you can't write everything on here and I have only been here for a short while but the list will grow longer lol |

After Buraida, Jeddah is like Las Vegas, especially if you are a girlie ! |

You can imagine what it's like going from Buraidah to Dubai then!
People make fun of Dubai but in that city we took all of Lizzie's list of things to do for granted. And MUCH more.
My next long vacation...Buraidah to San Francisco! |
