Hello,
I'm wondering if there are any relatively serious traders on this site who reside in HCM? I'd like to start a thread here on connectivity and other pertinent issues.
thx

about 2 weeks ago. I don't think many teachers have the profile for trading. I was trading pretty regularly before the crash, maybe 8 trades a day or so, then shut down as it got stupid. I came out okay, but am not trading now. I think to really do it, you have to focus on it, in which case you need a good connection and have to be awake during market hours, which are pretty much opposite the business hours there. Not sure that would be compatible with working there, maybe a good retirement strategy if your visa status would support it. I do recommend keeping a server in the west to work off of, if you do it. Probably best to identify your interested parties and then just email them, the VN section of this site is not very active now, and your thread would have to become the most active one going to really keep pace with the issues revolving around trading. I just don't see that kind of interest here. You might also check with some of the other Asian countries for other interested parties, as I think a lot of the issues would be similar in some other countries. |

Thanks mark,
Yeah I'd have to agree that there really isn't much interest on this site when it comes to trading...I've tried to get a thread going a few times and always with the same results...zippo
Anyway, sounds like you're suggesting that I don't execute trades in-country but rather email my position instructions back home. Is that because of poor connectivity?
Bye the way, I don't know your background but if you are from the USA or Canada you may want to explore CFD trading. I say this because CFDs are not available to residents Canada or the US back home. Basically they allow you to trade stock indicies with small positions. Otherwise you're limited to the futures market and will need a large bankroll. Of course, if you're from the UK then you're already familiar with them. Access to CFDs is one of the major reasons why I'm moving abroad.
take care |

is to have your own system hooked up in the west, where you have a good connection, and connect to it. VPN, GOTOMYPC, PCANWHERE, there are others I am sure. There are other advantages of being connected to a machine in the west. Like, normal access to sites like google, for example.
Personally, I trade the QLDs, they are a X2 leveraged version of the NASDAQ 100. I have enough equity that I can get as crazy as I want on those, sometimes each trade is like putting the value of a small house on the table. Very easy to see the value of that swing by $100 in 30 seconds or so. All the volatility and leverage any normal man needs, and then some. |
