I have been teaching health related courses for Red Cross and American heart association for over 10 years I have also Volunteered for my local literacy group. I have taught both adults and children. I do not have a college degree.
I'd like to attain part time or short term teaching positions.
What would be the best certification for me to complete?
It's very confusing, is it better to show an on site training in another country or are those just ways of getting folks to apply to the local teaching pool? |

Teaching health and literacy in English to native English speakers is very different from teaching language.
You would need at least a 30-day, on-site intensive course with supervised teaching practice on real students (not peer trainees).
As Glenski points out, without a university degree your options are limited. Your ten years of non-related teaching won't give you much of an edge on any job market I know of, either.
Not that you can't do this, but you'll be firmly in the newbie category in most regions of the world, I would think. |

CELTA and equivalent courses are offered in 30 day formats. |

Whyt don't you attend college and get a degree, perhaps part-time? Good luck. |
