Moonraven dear,
If you want to remain anonymous, then perhaps you should stop mentioning which positions you've held at which institutions at what point in history here in Mexico.
'tis a small world and I too have no doubt as to who you are |

Anonymity has never been one of my concerns, but if it would allow me to avoid being condescended to by other posters, maybe I should consider it. Or maybe I should simply stop responding to newbies' questions and cultivate my garden, in the words of Voltaire.... |

Guys,Guys, Guys,
Thank You for all your info.
I have contacted HH at Hermosillo and they sent back info which I will read through shortly, I don't like the thought of all the "training" and no job!
Wall Street Institute has also sent info which I will check out and so has Uni de Monterrey. So I think I will read through everything, keep watching this thread and others, and take it all with a grain of salt. 40 deg is hot, I hate air conditioning, it was close to that hot when I was in Cambodia and Thailand, but humidity was extremly high! It was like a sauna. I loved it!
Now, I think I'll go to mexico, not apply for any work til I get there and if I don't like it, the people the conditions or what ever I'll come home and work a season or 2 in the ski fields save up and do the rest of Sth Am next year. Thanks for all the info.

Hi, Peachy!
It's wise to be cautious. However, Hermosillo is not the whole of Mexico--no reason not to make your way south if you don't like it. Keep in mind, though, that Mexico is not part of South America....
Cheers! |

Hi Moonraven,
The reason I was thinking north west mexico is my boyfriend whom I haven't seen for a month and who is moving to San Diego for work will be closer and easier for me to reach if I'm in North West Mx. I can't get a US visa so our next thought was for me to be in mx and he in SD then he can commute to see me on his days off. I was looking for somewhere on the Baja coast however it seems living expenses are high and theres not been much mention of english teachers working anywhere there. If that won't work then I'll have to wait til xmas for him to come home to Oz B4 I see him again and thats going to kill me!
I'll still go to Mx and travel for a couple of months anyway, I figured if I land in LA and get down to Mx then fly to Cozumel and zig zag my way via bus back to LA then fly home.
Has anyone heard of any work on the baja coast?
I know I'll love Mx and my plan was to do Central then Sth Am with Dean (bf) and then head to Cambodia or somewhere but now his work has changed that and everything is in the air!
Sorry for blabbing on but sometimes it clears my head - even if no one reads this!
So I guess I'll wonder round Mx and see what comes up
Thanks TO EVERYONE all for your help and support its been great to get info from people really in the know. This is a great forum!
WELL DONE DAVE!!!! |
