Gee, maybe you ought to only ask for info for countries that you know how to spell. But that would likely be asking too much of the source.
Far be it from me who only has 16 or so years experience in 6 different institutions in 4 different Middle East countries (and traveled extensively and repeatedly in 6 others) to help someone who knows as much as you.

well that is what you say.
but what I read is you taking information from other
posters and quoting it as fact. I know you
have not worked at all the institiutions you respond to.
I just find it quite amusing, and I find the information
you post not to be relevant.
vieled sedement indeed. |

This is highly amusing-someone who can't admit his own mistake tries to slander someone else; I wonder what he does to the poor students who catch him making mistakes.....scary thought BTW, VS, you must be devastated by all those revelations M.O.N. made about you His behavior reminds me of the good old high school days-I had a few characters like that around me, except they just beat the XXXX out of you instead of creating a diversion . |

And they say the Colonel - by which of course I mean Qaddafy - is mad! Seems positively sane in comparison to some people ...
Anyway, if a crazy guy can be head of state, then manonatrain should go far in "Libyia". |

I see the whole gang is back
at the ol- gang bang. Just as i suspected, and
hoped.
Why i wonder do the same few characters try
to gang up on me. And call me crazy, when I
have never done anything crazy. Could it
be THE GANG MENTAL-ITY.
I am the sanest one out of you four, still waiting
for scot to come and give me a flame.
What no friendly advice on how puuurrrfffeect life
is like in libyia...or is it just my spelling which interests you. |

The Avatar used by "manonatrain" says it all.
This guy (?) is as nutty as a fruitcake.
Let him go to the Libyan Arabic Peoples Jamahariya and find for himself the treatment meted out to those unable to spell the name of that wonderful country.

No offense intended, but really one ought to spell properly the name of the country one is inquiring about teaching in, especially when one wants to teach English.
Is my response predictable?

Not to try and insert any sanity here, but does anyone actually have anythign to say about working in Libya? Other than nightmares getting in and out of the place (customs) most of my former co-workers all had positive things to say about the place. I've whipped off a few recent resumes but they only seem to want Brits. Anyone else with the same sad story? |

There has been that ad that runs every once in awhile for 6 month contracts. (repeatable I guess) It is a British company that pays in Sterling - and - even if you are not British, they deduct UK taxes which I hear can take years and years to get refunded to non-Brits.
That is about the only thing that I have heard at all about work there. I wonder if things will open up there now that they have managed to get most of the sanctions removed.

Got second hand knowledge. I know of a guy who taught in Libya for Bell Labs. He's a Brit and said that Bell was horrible. He only stayed 3 months. |

Nature,
Is that the same place that runs those ads regularly here on Dave's job page?
