Dear NETs,
I am currently doing a PhD thesis on the cultural adaptation and the job satisfaction of the NETs in Hong Kong. As a local teacher I am aware of the current situation of the NETs and the goal of my research is to understand, communicate and hopefully help address the needs of the NETs.
There is a link to a questionnaire that will take up to about 20 minutes to complete. I understand that everyone is busy, but please take the time to answer the questions as honestly as possible. The more respondents and opinions I get then the better picture I can form of the situation.
To fill it out, visit:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dEd6M3dXbkdTeVdSekFVZ0QtZ1E2Z3c6M
Your answers will be kept strictly confidential and will be used only for the purposes of my research. Since this is the first comprehensive study of the NETs in Hong Kong, the research report will be forwarded to the relevant parties such as the NET Section, EDB and NETs Associations. By researching the situation from your perspective, I hope to identify things that may improve the position for NETs in the future.
Your time and contribution to this study is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Joanne Chan

Your profile says that you live in the "PRC". Do you cross over to the SAR every day?
Also, do you mind telling us what type of school you are currently teaching in?

I deeply appreciate it if you have completed the questionnaire.
I, myself, am on the mainland of the PRC. I am helping a friend of a friend of a friend with that post. Look at it as a case of healing the sick on the sabbath or forgiving sins on the day of rest if you like!

Couple of things:
The link doesn't work.
If it's for a proper PHd at a proper university presumably your friend will need to do proper research. ie. a properly randomised sample of NETs, not just extrapolating some bs from whoever happens to fill out an online survey (many of whom may well be trolling).
Don't get me wrong, it's no skin off my nose, it just seems that she might put in a lot of work writing a thesis based on dodgy research which would probably not be accepted. Anyway, she should check what research criteria are accepted by her uni. |

Dear DanDan
I tried the link here at the university library and the link didn't work either. I thought it was a problem peculiar to the computer network system here, but you say that the link doesn't work for you presumably there in HK PRC.
About your other point, you are right to point it out, and her email address is given in my first post, so if you would like to point that out to her direct, she may have time to respond to you on the matter.
I have not tried to write to her by email myself, (have you?) but I did inform the friend of the friend of the friend that the link didn't work here on the mainland. My friend said that the link problem would be looked into. |

dandan: you make good points, but if 'she' is at a Chinese university, then we can assume that nobody gives a damn about validity. This "friend of a friend of a friend" is probably just another intellectually lazy hack at another unaccredited university.
