I think a key mistake people make in a competitive job market is asking questions to find out if the job suits them. I'm referring to things like commuting, hours, salary or anything that's not about what the employer wants and needs. It's fine to ask these questions if you know they're desperate to hire you but if they're not, it could count against you.
First, get the job offer. Say and do whatever you need to get it. After they offer it to you, ask all the questions you want and then decide if you want to accept or tell them their conditions suck and to get stuffed. |

That's exactly my plan.
My interview is Tuesday. |

| So I applied to Westgate and was wondering how long did it take some of you to get an email from them after the second part of the job application? After the online questions and the email saying they will/may contact you soon so get your references ready. |

A dire situation indeed. When the employer holds all the cards, and negotiating is inadvisable, soon enough people will be desperate enough to work in exchange for food.
That's what I call a really bad job market. |

*sighs* Nevermind, I got my response today. I was rejected so that definitely sucks. I have been searching for so long and just feel stuck in Korea. When will I get my chance to live again in my beloved Japan |

| Would anyone be willing to go into the specifics of the interview? I can't pm yet on this board but I would appreciate any info either posted here or sent my way. |

So, you must've missed it when NOVA teachers did that.

This was the only Westgate related thread I found, but I was offered an interview with them for next week. I also have a potential interview with an ALT dispatcher as well (Heart English School).
Two chances to go back to Japan within a couple of weeks of each other! Wish me luck! |
