I like it  Did you study Critical Discourse Analysis or Discourse Analysis? These are disciplines in Applied Linguistics. Actually I like the idea of your degree. Maybe in some way you could apply it in your teaching. There are interesting and sophisticated approaches to teaching reading and writing which actually value literature as an integral part of language learning (ie. Claire Kramsch, Richard Kern, Widdowson etc). Maybe you could relate to it. |

here's the thing with intl schools. SOME places will hire you without a teaching license and/or experience. BUT, these places are
1. in less desirable countries
and /Or
2. not the best schools. Seriously, not all intl schools are equal. Even those with IB . just go to www.internationalschoolreview.com and you'll see what I mean
And/or
3. Don't pay the best |

| Moral of the story: skip the CELTA and get a teaching credential. The difference between international school teachers' salary and benefits and everybody else's is astounding. |

With regards to a teaching credential: is it the PGCE (UK) they want, or just the Qualified Teacher Status? The UK has a wonderful scheme where, provided you can show that you have the experience, you can jump straight into your QTS year without a PGCE.
It�s a tempting option, but I do have a fondness for teaching language. |
