I answered a job ad in January for a position in Libya to start at the beginning of April. I received an offer from the school, which I accepted. It will soon be May and I'm still in Yemen. I am waiting for a visa. The visa process has been going on for several months. If/when I get a visa, I will go, however, I am not holding my breath. The director at the school says it's only a matter of time before it is issued. Fortunately I like Yemen very much so I don't mind the wait too much.
Still, I am fascinated at the idea of working in Libya. A poster in one of the forums said he/she wouldn't work in a place he/she had never visited -with me it's quite different. I have never been to Libya but I am excited about the prospect of teaching there. Before I came to Yemen, I had never been here, but I enjoy it very much.
My job offer is not from Bell International, who post from time to time on Dave's. I do not have the 10 years experience they require. Also, I believe they interview only in the UK.
Keep your fingers crossed for me and if/when I get to Libya, I will post a note to say what it's like. |
