If you could ask your prospective fellow teachers some questions about what it is like to work at their workplace/school, what kind of things would you ask? I'm unsure what to ask as I haven't been given the job yet, therefore I am scared of asking the wrong things, however, there are questions I'd like to ask -such as what the working conditions are like/what the materials at the school are like etc.
May I ask, what would / wouldve you asked your prospective fellow teachers if you had the chance?
Thanks |

Is this for eikaiwa or ALT job?
Assuming eikaiwa:
How much flexibility is allowed in lesson planning vs. how much of every lesson is pre-planned by the school?
How good is general attendance by students?
How well-suited to the assigned course levels are students?
Ask them to list one (not all) major weak point and strong point in the school. (Then, you can assess their response by how important the points seem to be. If they say "Great furniture!" for strong point but nothing about management or students, that's a red flag in my book.)
Ask how much time is needed per day for a newcomer to complete any required paperwork stemming from classes. |
