It'll get better starting tomorrow when games start to count more.
Me, I'm taking the lead from my daughter...she claps for every GOOOOOOOOOLLLLL no matter who scores it. |

Wow, a seven page football thread and I havent made a contribution yet. Yes, the start has been a bit cautious and cagey, more so than in previous tournaments I think. Ive noticed that there are more European coaches than ever at this World Cup, and they tend to prefer the counter attacking, men behind the ball philosophy. Things should open up more in the second round of matches. Agree with Guy, tune in for Chile matches as those guys are exciting |

I was wondering if England, as a low-skill team should take a leaf out of Switzerland's book if they have to play the likes of Brazil or Argentina later. I suspect that pride won't allow playing like that, effective though it is. |

You said it, baby! I'm delighted to see Mexico beat the French, and they deserved it too. Surely they are going to make it to the Round of 16, and Thierry Henry's handball is going to count for zippo. |

I'm not a fan of futbol, but today I managed to catch both of Mexico's gooools! on my computer thanks to ATDHE.net . Pretty exciting stuff. Now I'm going to wander over to El Angel and see if there's a celebration still going on. |

Fully deserved win for the Mexicans, hope Chicharito can knock in a few goals like that for United this season The goal looked easy but that was a difficult chance to take.
I can now see Mexico and Uruguay maybe playing for a draw (tie) on Tuesday to knock out France, but it would be in Mexico's interests to go for the win so that they avoid Argentina in the next round. |

Does anyone know how the tiebreakers work? What do France or SA need to do to knock Mexico (if they lose) out? |
