Because they do not hold the RED/BLUE passport of the West, their eyes are not blue/green, and their average salary back home is Epsilon! .
This is the hidden law of Uncle Bandar, take it or leave it! Laughing

Most of the Red passports (to be more precise, it is burgundy, not red) of the West are also worthless...In my case at least, my Dutch passport is certainly the biggest obstacle for me. I have not encountered any institution that has a block visa for the Netherlands...Can I convince an employer to get a visa for Dutch citizens from the Saudi Labour Office if they like my CV?

Well, what to say, after that blasphemous cartoons against the prophet of Islam (PBUH), do you think the Magic Kingdom will send block visa to Denmark?
Did you forget that the Magic Kingdom recalled its ambassador from Denmark over the blasphemous cartoons, and you want them to send work visa block to them? Impossible, until the cartoonist is brought to justice! Laughing
Change your passport! Laughing

I am actually not fluent in Dutch either, as I was educated completely in English...but that's a different story)

So what's your advice now? Shall I mention my background, or shall I insist that I am truly Dutch, but converted to Islam and changed my name or something Laughing

Well, I don't think I would lie on an application. As far as being native, are you what most anyone would consider native-level? I have met many Swedes and Germans whose English was pretty much impossible to tell from Americans or Canadians. I don't see anything wrong with saying native-level English, and explain that you were completely educated in English. I actually have a similar situation to you, my father is Mexican, Spanish was my first language, though I started speaking English when I was 6 or 7, so I certainly consider myself to be a native speaker. I always mention in my cover letter that I was educated in the US, including college and let people draw their own conclusions. You can explain as much as you feel you need to in your cover letter.
