|
|
Hi guys,
I'm in London at the moment. Im planning a trip with the wife back to Mexico for christmas. However the prices are really expensive, about 1000 return. So looking for alternatives I checked out flights to the USA Houston which are half that price.
My question is can anyone recommend a bus company to get me from Houston to Guadalajara (in one piece). Ive tried the main Mexican ones, ETN, Primara Plus but not found anything. Would booking in advance be cheaper?
cheers guys

I definately know that there are bus companies that go from GDL to Houston, but I can't remember the name of the bus line off the top of my head...
Have you tried www.vivaaerobus.com ? its a fairly new airline, set up by ETN and Primera Plus and they fly to Austin from Monterrey, I believe. It could be a cheap alternative, especially if you buy your tickets in advance |

If you cant find a bus going from Houston all the way to GDL, I suggest going to Monterrey first then transferring. Unlike the States, taking the bus trips in stages adds little if anything to the cost of the entire trip. |

I believe they have a station in Houston and they go to a lot of palces in Mexico. If you use them make sure you take a little pillow to sit on because the seats aren't soft at all, plus bring some toilet paper. The bathrooms on autobuses usually has none.
ETN is MUCH nicer and they leave from New Laredo if you care to go that route. Not sure if they go to GDL but you could ask. |

In the for what it is worth department....there use to be a Mexican bus terminal almost across the street from the main terminal in downtown Houston. Dont know if it is still there or not.
Americanos and Greyhound work together and Americanos will use Greyhound terminals and as the other poster said take a pillow.
Omnibus goes through Austin and on to Dallas as does Americanos.
Dont know if Omnibus goes through Houston.Best guess is that it does?
Americanos runs from Austin to San Miguel de Allende regularly.
Best advice is listed above....get to M'rey and take ETN.....a small premium to pay for a first class ride! |

Hi,
I looked at yahoo! Answers and someone asked a similar question. A guy wrote her back, and here are some of the companies he suggested:
ejecutivo buses- I hear they travel to Central America but I'm not sure if they travel from the USA. Still worth looking into.
El Expreso Autobus... according to the poster, they travel EVERYWHERE in Mexico and many towns in the States.
Hope this helps... |

I would personally take AMTRAK from Houston to El Paso TX and then take a bus either from El Paso or Cd. Juarez.
AMTRAK is a comfortable ride and it's a nice train.
I hate taking buses in the US.
Or look at flights into Mexico from Houston.
VivaAerobus now has service from Houston to Monterrey. The price for a same day ticket is only $129 which is a good deal. From MTY you could get a nice Mexican bus to GDL. Or continue by wth VivaAerobus. |
