Hi Songbird,

I also accepted a job at Huashang and plan on moving there in 2.5 weeks. I didn't think of asking for pictures of the apartment and my heart sank a bit after reading your topic = join Dave's again now!

Well, I'm back on Dave's and hope you will PM me the pictures the school sent you.

Based on my research, the school is relatively new and the photos I've seen of the campus online all indicate that the buildings are new. I was told that the teacher's apartment building has an elevator and at least 11 floors, so I thought that is a good sign. To be honest, I was surprised when I heard that. I was expecting a 6 or 8 floor walk-up building.

I'm not sure about the kitchen area, but, I think your thoughts may be correct. I like to cook and asked about the refrigerator size. I was told it is about 1 meter tall. That, plus the fact that the contract says the kitchen has an electric this and electric that = small kitchen area. Hopefully I'm wrong!

The contact did say - electric oven, along with a microwave. The place I'm in now doesn't have a microwave. It also has a small fridge. I will bring the bigger fridge that I bought and hope it fits.

I'm just worried about cooking/prep space and don't like sleeping in the same room that I watch TV in. Oh well.

Please send me the photos Songbird.

Jerry

Just wanted to let everyone know that it's all worked out. The school changed my apartment for me and it's ample and liveable. Started my move in yesterday and will complete next Monday.
