ESID.
I know some dispatch guys in Nagoya who love their jobs and are satisfied with their lot. I think they are owls?
The w5 kids here have it tough though. It's no wonder over half of them aren't native speakers; you wont find many people go work under those conditions. |

| In Nagoya, they're probably working for ALTIA Central. |

I don't think I have seen people trying so hard to defend dispatch companies in such a long time.
Yes, dispatch companies do differ in how they rip you off, but basically they do. I could tell you about my own story, but I think I'll pass.
Since when does someone have to personally experience everything to comment on it? I worked at one dispatch company, and perhaps interviewed at 2 more. In all cases what they offer compared to a direct hire is far less satisfactory, as well as in most cases illegal as they generally don't comply with Japanese labor law.
You think that defending companies that usually break the law on a regular basis is a good idea?
Glenski has seen the same kind of bs. I suppose it is also possible that the dispatch companies have tried to enter his uni as well (they're in in some form at all three that I work at).
So yes, do tell everyone how fantastic it is working for a dispatch company, since the two of you mdoor and seklarwia had 'wonderful' experiences. |

yes, I think you hit the nail on the head, I think its human nature. When people are reasonably happy/content, they don't post it, but when something goes wrong they rush to the nearest PC.
While I have not worked for a dispatch company, I good friend of mine has worked for one for a few years now and he has never complained
yes, ESID |
Yeah, I learned that also through JET. JET is considered one of the better options as far as ALT work is concerned, outside of direct-hire, and even JETs may post up complaints. So, imo, regardless of who one is working for, whether it's a direct hire or a dispatch company, ESID. Some will have a good experience with direct-hire positions, some will have bad ones. Some have had good experiences with dispatch companies, some haven't. |

Thanks for reading properly. Why don't you even go back and read even just my last post instead of rolling your eyes. |

Yes, good point. I have been here a few years and I have also read about JETs not getting a good deal. While it is obviously much rarer than dispatch companies, it does happen |

| There are horror stories out there that should be treated as one offs and there is info that should be taken with a huge pinch of salt. But at the end of the day dispatch is still dispatch; there is a huge gap in the benefits received in dispatch in comparison to some better direct hirer jobs. And whilst some dispatchers might not always be nightmarish to work for, there are more than a few companies that have earnt their horrendous reputations. |
Ah, yes, this makes me feel all warm now, doesn't it? For some reason I don't think I will recommend to people that they go to a dispatch company.
I think I was looking more at you getting on Glenski's case for taking you to task. So, we'll say you're a half a notch above the other noted poster. |

Like it or not dispatch companies are a major part of the landscape for foreign teachers in Japan. I feel it is best talk about them in realistic ways and to give readers of this forum accurate experiences. I know the agenda of the crew on this forum is to promote a union to fight the big bad dispatch companies. I would go along if I thought a union had a remote chance of working. Unfortunately a foreign teacher's union is just a pipe dream championed by fools. A (yuk!) dispatch agency quote coming from a poster who never worked for a dispatch company is the party line.
Yes, the other noted posted stated he had a good experience working with a dispatch company in 2008 and 2009. I was always paid on time in full, I was given good support on the job and for general living issues. Everything about the way I was treated was fair and reasonable. That makes me public enemy number one on this propaganda filled forum.

So you accuse me of something that I didn't do. Since when does "not nightmarish" = "fantastic"? And where exactly am I recommending that people should go dispatch? Did I not admit in this very same thread that I would have preferred to come via JET? Did I not warn in that very same post that people should be sure they understand what they are letting themselves in for if the choose dispatch?
And now you think I was wrong for getting on his case because when he made a judgement call on a personal decision and I told him that he shouldn't as he didn't know all the facts, he insisted that he had a right to even going as far as saying that if he was in my position (one that he knew nothing about) he would make a different choice. What exactly about my arguement is so wrong in your eyes?
Are you now going to find something new to point your finger at me for, because you can't admit you didn't read properly if at all? |

| I would take pretty much any dispatch job in a heartbeat over an eikaiwa job, and I think a pretty sizable amount of people who have done both would agree with me. |
