| Language school experience doesn't count, but the rest does. You should get about Dh. 18,000 to start at one of the major colleges or universities in the UAE. |

| You may have been misinformed, S&B. Zayed is not known to pay as much as UGRU or even HCT: between AED 14,000-14,500/mo would be a realistic starting range for someone with just 3-4 years of university ESL teaching experience, esp. if it was not in the Middle East. A Master's in English lit is not valued as highly as a Master's in TESOL. I have friends who have been teaching there for a couple of years, with more relevant experience, who are not making more money than that now. And with competition for jobs so strong, I wouldn't recommend protracted haggling. |
