Hi,
I am now reasearching jobs in HK, I'm looking at the NET scheme as well as private schools or universities.
One thing that I find a bit disturbing is the idea of 6 day working week?!?!?
Is that true for most jobs in HK? And is this something they spring on you, or is it laid out in the contract?
I don't mind working on weekends as long as there is time off during the week, but working 6 days a week is just plain harsh.
If it is true, why do people put up with it? Is this the norm in HK?
As teachers we don't get great pay, but its usually not too difficult to find jobs with a good schdule. So this is why I'm confused about the situation in HK, is everyone expected to be a workaholic?
1 more thing, is it easy to change contracts once you have your HK working visa, or is it a pain. (I've seen posts about the paperwork being a hassel there).
Thanks for any info. |
