I've just arrived in Beijing and have a week or so to decorate my classroom. I brought some stuff from home but the classroom is bigger than i was expecting. Does anyone know of any stores where you can pick up stuff for decorating a classroom (elementary age)? I'm looking for posters, boarders that kind of thing.

I'm out in the Shunyi district which is quite near the airport.

If you find out anything, please let me know as well. Every summer I go home to the states to buy these very things (and more!) for our ever-expanding international department (this year, THREE new classrooms plus our previous eight existing ones!). Then I buy, buy, buy and send everything back here. Costs about twice as much due to shipping but I'm no way going to try and lug it back in my suitcases. Most of the things I buy are actually made here in China so I'd love to find the source area and see if my school could negotiate something.

By the way, you might try foreign language bookstores, art supply places, office supply stores, even toy stores to see if you can find what you are looking for.
