Chancellor, I know you love us Brits, but you are even confusing me! We have a 'Bachelors Degree', or a 'Bachelors Degree with Honours'. And yes, they normally take 3 years.
(as opposed to those weird people in the USA who seems to take 33% longer than they actually need in order to finish a program of University study ) |
Yes, I like giving Brits a good-natured hard time. The American bachelors degree is a four-year degree and is the equivalent of what you Brits call a bachelors degree with honours. But I think the big difference is that we Americans seem to have this strange notion that a degree should make someone a much more well-rounded person and, so, we expose them to humanities, maths, sciences, etc., in addition to the courses required for their major. |
