I've been working for Peppy Kids Club since last November. Never had any problems, it's a great company, and the job is fun and easy.
The only thing is that I live a bit in the countryside, which can be a bit challenging, but I like it a lot overall.
I write a blog about life in Japan, check it out:

I'm going to be starting Training on October 4th. My interview was in Toronto with Donna and she sent me your blog page. You mention you're a bit on the countryside, was it by choice to go rural? The unpredictable placement of PKC is kind of making me hesitate since I got an offer from a bigger school with more specific locations.
Any honest advice would be priceless, pm me if you want |

I was interviewed for Peppy Kids Club earlier this year. Everything seemed to be going fine until I told them I had a wife. All I asked for was to be allowed the "privilege" of finding my own housing, since my wife would obviously not be allowed to live in the Peppy Kids "dorm room." So in essence, I was disqualified because I was married. After telling them that I thought it was ironic how a business that makes its money by dealing with families actively discourages its own employees (or potential employees) from having them, they apologized to me for that fact. I guess the good thing about the Peppy Kids Club was that they were honest about their prejudice. That counts for something, I think. |

They also make money from putting people in those dorm rooms and overcharging them. |

Not to lecture, but understand the difference between "prejudice" and "discrimination".
There's nothing wrong with being prejudiced. People are allowed to have their thoughts, likes and dislikes.
It's when they convert those thoughts into action and move against a person or a group of people that they cross the line.
You have been discriminated against. It counts for nothing!
It was and is wrong...

Peppy is good. Yes, most of us live in rural locations, but it's honestly the best schedule/best pay you'll find in Japan, for a first year.
Good things:
-they find the apartment
-you work very few hours
-the job is easy easy
-never had any troubles with getting paid or taking vacation
-even if you live in a rural area, there's other teachers around
-you get tons of free time, and long weekends
-most peppy apartments are brand new and great
Bad things:
-you'll most likely live in a remote location
-the working hours are early evening until kind of late at night. some people like that, but im not sure i do.
-you'll have to spend a LOT of time commuting
-the schools are often located in very remote areas, which can be scary late at night.
I don't mind life in the countryside, it can get a bit boring, but those long weekends allow me to travel so much. I take frequent trips to Osaka/Tokyo/Kobe/Kyoto.
PM me for any questions, and here's my blog:
