Hi Quicha.

Do you mind me asking how you have enjoyed your first couple of months at PKC? I have an interview next week.

(I would PM you but I'm new to this forum and I have to have a minimum of 5 posts before it will allow me to.)

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

I've been working for PKC for ten months now, and I've mostly enjoyed my year. The schedule is very light, gives you a lot of free time to enjoy living in Japan and traveling.

The teaching is easy, and allows you to get creative. The kids are usually cute. The job gets very repetitive so it's important to find new ideas and games. You only see the kids once a month so it's a bit difficult to bond with them. Overall I'm enjoying it a lot.

I'm glad to hear some positive feedback on PKC. I will be submitting my application in a couple of days. Did anyone interview at the Los Angeles office? I'm a bit nervous I will not be able to find it! I am from Oregon !

Hey Kankidan, I'm from Oregon too (small world), and am organizing an interview with them right now. I've already interviewed at AEON in LA and it was very easy for me to find. I've found PKC office on maps and it should just be a spurt of a taxi ride from LAX. If you're staying the night there I would just suggest getting a hotel right near their office.

The interview is fairly easy, but be prepared to come up with some games ideas for young children. As long as you seem cheerful, energetic and presentable, there shouldn't be a problem.

I had Graham as my interviewer, he was pretty chilled, seemed mostly interested in personality than qualifications.

Thanks ciccone_youth, I stumbled across your blog a few days ago and look forward to reading it. Wiawc, I have an interview coming up with Graham. He sounds very nice and relaxed from what I have gathered so far. Thanks for the quick responses everyone, puts my mind at ease hearing from others who are/have been in the same boat!
