Hello everyone,
I have read through most of these threads and have gotten a lot of great information about Colombia, so thanks to everyone for that. I am hoping that someone can provide me with some information about jobs in either Cartagena or Santa Marta. I would like to either teach English Literature at an international school or ESL at a university. I have about seven years of teaching experience (4 in America, 1 in South Korea, and 2 in Istanbul) and I have two master's degrees (Journalism and English Lit), so I'm hoping to land a decent job at this point. From what I've been reading, it sounds like it would be best to simply target some possible schools and send them my materials. I'm having a tough time finding a list of schools in these two cities, so if anyone has some suggestions, please let me know. Thanks! |

Difficult to find jobs in either!! Check out Barranquilla (half way between) where there are three excellent International Schools that pay VERY well: Carl C. Parrish, British School of Barranquilla and Marymount. Also, with your qualifications, try Universidad del Norte (Uninorte).
Barranquilla is a great place to live and central for many other places.
Also (I forget its name) but there is a fantastic International School nearby in La Guajira - check it on Google.
Enjoy and good luck. |
