MOD EDIT. Even though it's under new management, the same old sorry state of affairs still exist at SBC. Be very wary before you apply.
And as for the large salaries? Well, basically you are paid that little bit extra to keep your mouth shut and pass students that shouldn't pass. It's really bribe money. The fact of the matter is that SBC, along with other dodgy joint-venture operations in China, ie, Nottingham in Ningpo and Liverpool in Suzhou, are like giant vacuum cleaners, sucking up anything that moves, taking the fees, and feeding them into pathway programmes back in the home-country. No wonder there's so much in the British press recently about the dumbing down of standards in our most prestigious of universities. |
