Get over it. I used to hate the use of "pic" instead of the correct "picture".
That is, of course, until I realized that it was my bad...

An acquaintance in the US sent me an e-mail and he used "my bad" twice. I hate that. Is that on here? If not, it should be. It got so popular a few years back that it seemed like some people were trying to make mistakes so they could say it. |
It's on here. In spades. |

I've been nursing serious peeves since '81. You just don't get over certain things.... |

Some cloggie stole my new bike tonight.
Language fails me, except that I'M PEEVEDPEEVEDPEEVEDPEEVEDPEEVED.
What's bad enough to say in such a situation? How can I restrain myself from falling into foul stuff that exploits stereotypes?
I guess the language I need just now isn't allowed by our esteemed mods....going outside to shriek at the moon. |

In Holland? Bad language? "Collaborator! Collaborator!" That should suffice. I reckon you'll peeve at least half of 'em... |

Dear spiral78,
Sorry to hear that. Was it a bike or a motorcycle? I had a cycle stolen way back in '83 from a locked courtyard in Jeddah (the cycle was also chained.)
I STILL haven't gotten over that - although, maybe I owe the fact that I'm still alive to that *&^%$# thief.
Regards,
John |

I'd guess a push-bike. Everybody steals 'em in Dutchland. A trick some say they picked up from the retreating German Army...
Ever heard of Billy Connelly? Great comedian. Always remember breaking down in hysterics as he screamed to what bicycle thief robbed him that.." if I ever find you, I'll wrap that f@#king bike round yer neck!!"
Now he was seriously peeved then, and I bet still is now... |

It was my new
limited edition
Gazelle
with in-sproket braking system (no brake pads to replace)
ultra-hyper-gearing system (it runs in utter silence)
customised schnauzer seat
which I intended to ride for many years..................
It has a microchip
a tattooo
2 impenetrable official locks
(and, thank god, was fully insured - I'm not a TOTAL idiot - bike stealing is a proud cloggie tradition) I'm just back from the all-night police station, making the official report. They don't even bother to search for the micro-chipped bike...why bother with the chip?????
Anyway, off to the fietsen shop tomorrow morning in hopes I can order a new edition of the same bike.
PEEVE: what locks can I add to ensure I get to keep this one???? |

I usually just leave a note saying "I don't know where you live, punk, but my (insert app ethnic group/clan/gang here) friends will find out and you'll need to have that bike surgically removed by the time we are through. Still wanna steal it?"
Same bike for 15 years... |

C'mon. It would be suicide to try to ride a bike regularly in Calgary (the only part of Canada I know anything about so far). Theft would be the least of my worries! |
