Did anybody have to authenticate a degree from the Saudi Cultural Mission in Paris?
My wife got her PhD from France, she is trying to gather all the documents for the visa application (she got hired as a faculty), including a certified/validated/authenticated copy of her PhD degree. We are currently living in US, so she has to take care of the authentication by mail. Unfortunately, the Saudi Cultural Mission in Paris has no website. They hardly answer the phone; and when they do, you have to extract information from their mouth. The guidance they gave sounds weird: they told my wife to fax a copy of her degree, and they will fax it back (with the authentication stamp). We have hard time to believe that a simple fax will be sufficient for her to get her visa, or iquama while there. We tried to contact the Saudi Embassy in Ankara (this is where she will have to apply for her visa) to make sure that a fax is fine, but they do not answer either. Any thought? |

Dear Picard,
I went through a similar process. To legalise a French degree you need to go to the Bureau de Legalisation in Paris. you can find the address off google. You go in (its better to arrive early ) and they will stamp your degree, no problem. I needed to do it for Taiwan.
Its probably best to have a certified copy stamped. After that I went to the Taiwanese embassy and they stamped the degree again.
If you had a friend who could go the Saudi Embassy in person with the degree legalised by the French Bureau de Legalisation it would probably be no problem and they would stamp it . The problem arises with the distance. I had to fly from Taiwean to Paris for two rubber stamps on my degree certificates.
anyway, I`d be interested to find out how things worked out for you with the Saudis in Paris. I`m planning to teach in a university in Saudi in the future and will need to have my french qualifications legalised again. So I will try to let this coincide with a vacation to France. |
