Let me just narrow down the search, I'm looking for esl teachers (with just a BA/BSC or those with TEFL /CELTA qualifications) teaching at public or private schools.
I'm not looking for answers from people that are certified teachers or teachers working at private institutes or companies (language schools).

My question is:

Do you teach on your own (freedom to create own curriculum and/or freedom to interpret curriculum as you want)

or

are you in a co-teaching/assistant teaching situation (have to co-teach with another teacher and are not in charge of the lesson planning or what you are teaching)

Thank you to anyone who can shed light, I'm just trying to see what teaching conditions are like in other countries.

Private school (8-4) and within the confines of the book choices available the foreign teachers here (licensed/certified teachers for subjects and non-licensed for ESL) are pretty much free to design at will as long as the material is covered. Teachers books for the texts are available as well.

There is no co-teacher to deal with. We do have co-workers that we have to occasionally consult with to ensure proper integration of material and subject matter as well as testing schedules.

Well, I have a BS and MS degree, but not in any teaching-related fields, and I have a TESL certificate. Close enough?

Ok, but I used to teach at one of each. Now I'm at a university.

Yes.

No.

BTW, I had plenty of freedom in my other 2 jobs as well, but in this one I have the most.
