|
|
Hello,
I got a job in KSA and am in the process of getting a work visa. The Univ provided me with a letter from the Ministry of Education addressed to the Saudi embassy requesting that resident visas be arranged for my dependents (husband and children). However, the embassy refuses to accept this letter and told me that I am not eligible to apply for resident visas for my family members because I do not have a doctorate. After much back and forth, they have agreed to provide my dependents with 3-month visit visas. They claim that I will be able to sort things out when I arrive in KSA and that the University will be able to arrange for resident visas for my family.
I'm a bit skeptical and would like to hear from anyone who has had experience bringing their families over. What kind of visas did you obtain to bring your families over? Does anyone have experience with having their families arrive with a visit visa and then converting to a resident visa?
Thanks. |

I know plenty of people who don't have Doctorates (or even MAs) yet were able to get residence visas for their dependents. Perhaps this is a new regulation? |

Lots of teachers at universities do not have doctorates but bring in their families. Same applies to secondary school teachers. |
