I've had an expression of interested from Extreme Superior English Alliance in Arequipa. Never having been to South America, I wondered what people knew about this school. Mainly, is it well resourced and maintained, do you get paid on time, are the visa arrangements legal and anything people might now about this. I'm not really interested in information about the city, just what people may know about this school.
Thanks |

Um, visas? In Peru? Nope. I highly doubt that they would get you a visa. the only place that I know that gets teachers a visa in Britanico in Lima. Other places either have you border hop or pay the dollar a day fine. Or hope that you have a visa through yoru spouse or something like that.
I've heard good things about them. About pay, I'm guessing you'd be making 6 to 10 usd an hour, tops. Arequipa is supposed to be a nice place.

I honestly have no idea who I heard it from. I get about 5 emails a week from teachers looking for info about Peru or from those already in Peru. Here's their website. http://cetproenglish.com |

I have a phone interview with this school later this week.
If anyone has worked with them and can offer comments, good or bad, could you please PM me or post here?
Thank you.... |

I worked at Extreme for two months and I didn't have a very good experience. They pay on time, and in cash, which is nice, but that was just about the only good thing the school had going for it. The school is very unorganized. Tests/exams are a joke, the "book" might as well go in the garbage, and not once in two months did anyone really sit in on my class to see what I was doing.
There are many schools in Arequipa to work for and I suggest looking to one of those instead. |
