Our OP has disappeared after two posts.
That offer was either a typo or a scam...

You could get SR. 30,000 a month (package, not base) at KSU and the other large government universities if you are a full professor, preferably in a scientific field, are known for your research/publications, and have been teaching for decades at the same place. Oh, and of course you have to be from one of the favored races/countries. There are probably a max of a couple of such cases each at KAAU, KSU, and KFUPM.
TEFL... SR. 30,000... uh, no.
I think the OP converted the salary into his/her own country's currency and now mistakenly thinks that is the salary in SR. Or what Scot said! |

| I know that KAUST offers minimum annual base salary of US$100,000 for new graduated PhDs and Post-Docs. An Assistant professor in Engineering or Science fields can get around $130000 /year (equivalent of SR40733 /month) plus other benefits! |

Dear Sheik,
Wouldn't the "second captain" be the "first mate?"

| "Second Captain", "First mate", could it be "Executive Officer"? I don't know about those navy things. Then again, I was a kid when the Village People sang their famous song about the navy. Wasn't the navy going to use it as a recruiting campaign until they found out what it really meant? Sheesh, I just thought the village people were guys who liked to dress up in costumes and sing songs about the navy and ymca. I had the metal lunchpail that someone gave me for a birthday present (I was at the ripe age of 7). I'm sure various male members of my family were on the verge of heart attacks. |

Dear misterkodiak,
" . . . could it be Executive Officer?"
Only if it were a military ship:
"In the United States Army and Marine Corps, for example, there are XO billets in each company, battalion, and brigade, though not at higher levels of command. The XO billet is not a command; rather it is considered staff. The XO is typically responsible for the management of day-to-day activities, such as maintenance and logistics, freeing the unit commander to concentrate on tactical planning and execution. The XO also takes charge in the absence of the CO. While the experience gained as an XO is highly beneficial for an officer's professional development, never serving in the position will not preclude an officer from commanding later. In the United States Navy and Coast Guard, XOs are normally assigned to all ships and shore units, and have a similar role to their counterparts in the Army and Marine Corps. On board Coast Guard cutters that are commanded by either a junior officer or a senior enlisted member, Executive Petty Officers (XPOs) are usually assigned to serve as second-in-command."
Regards,
John |
