|

I know for a fact that I read on more than one site (some of those 'retiree' sites) that a person could live "OK" in Chieng Mai on $1000-1200 @ mo.
I don't drink or smoke or party. Only thing I do for fun is salsa dance (and I know they have at least one club there that has salsa dancing).
I'd just be wanting to settle in, maybe get some kind of teaching job, do my internet stuff on the side......and enjoy the Chieng Mai ambiance.
Anybody got any comments?
Thanks,
Art
P.S. I have a Masters in International Business, undergrad in Music Education, 3.5 years teaching in public schools in Korea and extensive business ownership experience back in the US. |

Other than finding a job (lots of competition in the specific area) it is certainly very do-able. When you do land a job (government school or language academy) it will be a bit lower on the pay scale (on average) due to supply and demand for teachers in the local area.
If you can take care of your visa issues then it is certainly a comfortable place to be.
