Wow, there're a lot of things to complain about with Arabic culture!

Have you bought your ticket yet?

It comes with the territory--any territory. Foreigners working or studying in the US (or any country) tend to complain a lot. WE complain a lot about what's wrong with our own countries. If everything is wonderful and everyone's happy in YOUR country (or culture), you have a lot to learn. I admit it's hard to keep a thick skin sometimes.

Hey SnB, thisun's afraid of guns being pointed at her by animations! To say that she's gotta lot to learn is an understatement...PC gone WILD!

You talk of "nanny states"...she's the ultimate "nanny"...

I have to say that I have never been a fan of either of your avatars NCTBA and SnB. (not to mention Trapezius bashing his poor little head over and over - though it often matches the topics Cool )

I'm sure all three of you will manage to carry on even though someone doesn't like your avatar.

[quote="Never Ceased To Be Amazed"]Ya know...we discussed the "losing (of precious) identity" ad nauseum when ADEC first came out with the idea and came to the conclusion that it was unadulterated bull$hit. In order for Emiratis (and probably ALL other Gulf Arabs save Yemenis and, possibly, Omanis to "lose" their "identity", they'd have to:

-stop driving like lunatics

-buckle up their kids

-stop polluting like all get out]

...and on and on...

This is nothing more than a racist rant. Shame on you. Very odd for an EFL teacher.

Learn the definition of 'racist', 'racism', etc.

And then also look up 'realist', 'realism', etc.

It's all about culture. Racism often gets confused with a distaste for elements of a given culture. Personally I don't care for Japanese social culture very much, and for many reasons I won't bore you with, I would never enter into a relationship with 99% of Japanese women. On the other hand, I'm crazy about Vietnamese and Chinese women..and generally like their cultures. SO...is that racist? Because in race, there's barely any difference between the three cultures I just mentioned.

It would be like someone from Vietnam in the USA preferring northern Anglos over Southern Anglos, because there is a definite cultural difference. . As Trapezius pointed out, some of us need to look up things up and not be so damned PC.

Feelin' better now, sugar dumplin'? Take the advice of other posters and invest half a dime in a dictionary...and then read it...you'll come off much more intelligent sounding...
