Shiny_star, it rests on how flexible you are with which type of school you want to work for (A or B), start dates and location choice. I'm a former poster on this thread - I ended up waiting another 6 months for placement purely because I hadn't completed my degree yet.

From the time it took me to send my degree in, until the time I was found a placement was just under one month. I was extremely picky with placement and actually changed my preferences to "The whole of Japan" because, like you, I was getting impatient. That didn't matter though as I got a call a couple of days later to say she'd found a school in my original specifications. I don't start until January because I've been so picky but that means more time to save and plan.

My friend (coincidentally at the same interview as me) was offered a position with 1 month's notice! She ended up taking the position and is very pleased she did.

So there's two extremes. I have a feeling if you're not picky you'll be offered a place in the next couple of weeks and trust me, you'll stop expecting it and it'll happen that day! hehe

Hi LaniB - I'm not sure how flexible I was with my preferences - I asked for a B school and locations anywhere near the small to med sized cities in Japan. My interviewer said that the January vacancies were almost filled, and that it was possible that I would have to wait for a February/March position. I just graduated from my degree earlier this month - would it be a matter of just ringing them about the completion of my degree?

Yes, if they haven't yet copied your degree then I'd call up and arrange to mail it in. That is one of the things they require when you accept a position though so you may be able to save postage and add it to the package you send to them. Definitely let them know you have it, that's what started the ball rolling for me!

It does sound like you're quite flexible so you should hear soon - one awesome thing about AEON is that they remain in contact right through the process.

If your school does not yet have a formal copy of your degree yet, get them to write a certified document to accompany a sealed transcript of your grades as proof.
