Much appreciated if anyone could advise on housing options in Sharjah. How much is it for a newer 2/3 bedroom, 2 bathroom flat? What is availability like? How about parking? If working on the Sharjah campus, where would be the best places to look for a flat? What kind of commute time is average?
I am considering jobs at KUSTAR and Sharjah Women's but I'm a very nervous about housing.
Any opinions or advise would be greatly appreciated.

At HCT new hires do not have to find their own accomodation. If you're lucky, and I was one of those, you'll be shown 2 or 3 places and you'll get your pick. If you're not so lucky, you'll get a 2 or 3 bedroom flat in a relatively new building (no choice) but you'll have the option to move (you pay that expense) in 6 or 12 months (better choices at end of June).

You can also choose to find your own accomodation so long as it does not exceed your allowance and no, you don't get your allowance = the college will inspect and approve your choice and issue a cheque to the landlord directly.

As for the first paragraph - most (say 99%) is perfectly acceptable, and people choose to move because of transportation (traffic) issues or personal preference

Go KUSTAR! I almost did HCT Sharjah and I'm happy I didn't. If you get an offer from both the choice is clear.*

*I'm not at KUSTAR or HCT Sharjah, but I have contacts at both. For me, this is a no-brainer.

I'm curious as to why you would choose KUSTAR over HCT Sharjah? Any input would be great!
