Short but sweet........need some urgent help on this one.
What would I be able to find in terms of accommodation in Abu Dhabi for 72,000AED p.a. (6000 p.m.)?
Nothing flashy but two bedrooms would be a must.

Possibly. I believe the Mitsubishi Bldg 2 bdrm apartments go for around that, so they can be found. But they will be rare, and youmay have to go off-island. Abu Dhabi is suffering from Dubai's horrendous rent hikes, and there's little to choose from in ADH to start with. Ask your employer for a list of buildings your colleagues rent in. They should have one, and if they don't, have them put you in contact with some of those colleagues. Most people are happy to help out the new folks. |

You do realize that you are answering a post that was made 4 years ago?
These real estate websites tend to be sort of useless for new teachers who don't know neighborhoods and traffic patterns... not to mention that they are targeted to expats with much larger housing allowances than teachers.
Our help will come from our employers and other teachers who are there.
