|
|
I've been doing the single room rental thing for a while, and am looking for a change.
To clarify 'reasonably priced', I'm thinking of 400US or less a month....preferably less This would ideally be a one-bedroom apartment, and I'm flexible with the district - I don't mind driving. I checked livingvietnam.com, and didn't see anything in this price range, though this site did seem to cater to the more affluent, or at least those willing to spend a greater percentage of their paycheck on accommodation.
Any advice or websites would be appreciated! |

They defiantly exist, me and my girlfriend rent a nice house in a quiet little ally in Binh Thanh district, just over the river from district one. It has a big living room and kitchen, a big bedroom upstairs (with balcony) and two bathrooms. We only pay 4 and a half million dong (about 240ish I think) a month. We pay bills extra, but they never come to much.
We got really lucky, it might be hard, but it is possible to find reasonably priced housing |

Yeah that's about what I pay for a SINGLE room (though that's with everything included including a daily laundry service). Sometimes I think I'm getting a good deal (for a foreigner), and then I hear about situations like yours.
Gotta keep looking around I suppose. I guess the main problem in my case is that I'm planning on moving alone. One bedroom apartments don't seem nearly as common (or affordable) as two-three bedroom apartments.
Checked out Saigon Pearl just for fun. The employee estimated that it would run me around 1100US for a single room. |

I have the virtually the same deal in district 8 so it is possible. |
