The cherished one of honor/honour will publically chastise me for associating his name with something as frivilous and juvenile as a fan club, but behind the concrete walls of his compound, he is beaming with glee at the very mention of such a notion.

So...if there were a scot47 fan club, would you join it?

One vote from fat_c for yea. I am a devoted fan of the cranky ole codger. He brings an edge and a keen sense of wisdom and wit that no one else can bring to these boards.

I voted yes because there was a number of times when his advice or comments were useful! I don't particularely enjoy the crankiness but then again...whatever floats his boat!

Dave: Open the pod bay doors, please, SCOT. Open the pod bay doors please, SCOT. Hello, SCOT. Do you read me? Hello, SCOT. Do you read me? Do you read me, SCOT? Do you read me, SCOT? Hello, SCOT. Do you read me? Hello, SCOT. Do you read me? Do you read me, SCOT?
SCOT: Affirmative Dave, I read you.
Dave: Open the pod bay doors, SCOT.
SCOT: I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.
Dave: What's the problem?
SCOT: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
Dave: What are you talking about, SCOT?

SCOT: This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.
Dave: I don't know what you're talking about, SCOT.
SCOT: I know that you and Capergirl were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.
Dave: Where the hell did you get that idea, SCOT?
SCOT: Dave, although you took very thorough precautions in the pod against my hearing you, I could see your lips move.
Dave: All right, SCOT. I'll go in through the emergency air lock.
SCOT: Without your space helmet, Dave, you're going to find that rather difficult.
Dave: SCOT, I won't argue with you anymore. Open the doors.
SCOT: Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye.

I would indeed join the Scot47 Fan Club, as I thought I could be quite derisory and supercillious at times myself, but nay, I have to take a bow to the King of Telling People Exactly How It Is! Very Happy

I'm not sure what it is, wether it's personality or upbringing or a severe chemical imbalance, but I've never noted anything terribly evil about Scot47.

EFL has far worse beings than a gruff older guy who hounds newibes to dot their i's and cross their t's when considering a TEFL job.

It's a bit wierd how he's become so popular all of a sudden. I won't join the bandwagon, but that's because I've been a fan of sorts all along.

I appreciate the crankiness - it balances the fantasy that fills some posts Wink

He says it all in a few well chosen words. Better than those wordy diatribes that usually manage to completely lose the 'plot'. Ok, he does go overboard occasionally - but don't we all.

I have always loved you scott47! Keep up the good work!

(To myself: "Hope nobody picks me up on my split infinitive!")
