| Just as an FYI on a good (read Friday morning about 8am) day, Sharjah is at least 2.5 hrs away from anywhere in Central Abu Dhabi - Dubai probably about 1.5 hours - that is without traffic - and people do commute, on those days add 25 - 75% more time |

You could have a look in the classifieds here to get an idea of prices for accommodation. This is a weekly mag, so would be as up to date as you'll get.

Just out of curiosity... where on that website is anything about flat rentals? I checked all the drop downs and tried a search for flats or real estate, and got nothing.

I can not find the word "classified" anywhere on the front page... and I tried search and still got nothing. Definitely NOT user friendly.
Do you have to register?

Perhaps the page didn't load correctly for me. But, I find it odd that nothing turned up when I did various searches either. Their search is even worse than ours here.

generally, i try not to post anything on these forums beacuse i am still in the "mad house". however, i can't sit by and watch someone who is content in their current situation make possibly the most disaterous mistake imaginable. you are stepping into quicksand by coming here to teach and that is the best way to decribe it!!! you will be sinking slowly and thinking the whole time, why didn't i just go down the other path, and if you survive, you will live the rest of your life mentally scarred (scared). BE AFRAID! BE VERY AFRAID!
STAY IN CHINA IF YOU ARE CONTENT!!!!
so in short, the TRUE cost of living is nothing short of your sanity!!!
