As a long term Aeon teacher, I can attest that it's 70% teaching, and 30% selling. It was very hard for me at the start, and I'm looking to do other work that doesn't have "counseling week" which actually means "sales pitch week" twice a year; asking your students to come in, not for a lesson, but to 'recommend' home study. Any students who skip class, you must phone or e-mail, even at 9 pm on Friday night. For some students, they appreciate the personal care, for others it's harassment. It's case by case.

The individual schools vary, but my co-workers are all decent people, which made my job alright.

So, Aeon is a great way to get into the country, and have a solid, dependable paycheck for at least a year (as long as they don't terminate your contract early in the first year) but it has a high burnout rate. I'm kind of embarrassed that I've stuck around so long.

I look forward to see if other places are better. Though not necessarily in this job market Crying or Very sad
