After a teacher accepts an offer of employment at SQU, they are sent a medical examination form. The teacher must then pay for (not reimbursed) their own general exam, including blood work, a urinalysis, and a chest X-ray, and have their doctor fill out and sign the form. The form must then be submitted to the SQU Personnel Dept.

Then, after arrival at SQU, the teacher is taken to the SQU clinic for another exam (this one is free!) by the SQU medical clinic and hospital, which includes another blood test for AIDS, a urinalysis, a chest X-ray, and an EKG, plus a general physical check (breathing, reflexes, etc.) The results of the first and second exams are compared and an SQU doctor has to certify the teacher as fit for duty before the teacher is allowed to sign their official contract.

I suspect that they only reason that they require the number of tests that they do at SQU is because they have the facilities to do it with the on-campus hospital. When I was hired by a private university, it was nothing before arrival, and just the two procedures which took less than a half hour at a government clinic in Ruwi.
