Hi,
Several of my students here in Kazakhstan are attempting to enter the Nazarbayev University in Astana. They are stating that in addition to IELTS that they must take the BCEPT. Unfortunately, I have never heard of this test and an internet search yields very little. Most times I am directed to an IELTS site. A search here on Dave's likewise brought up nothing.
Can anyone possibly tell me the structure of this test? One student mentioned 60 grammar based questions?
Any help is appreciated.

I wonder if they mean one of the KEY tests? I used to do teaching for FCE (First Certificate in English), after that came CAE and then CPE: Certificate of Proficiency in English.
I thought IELTs had pretty much overtaken these other Cambridge exams but maybe they are still important in some parts of the world.
If you go under the BC main website and look up the above test (CPE) it will show you the structure of the exam but that may not be the right one. Maybe Johnslat is right and it's just the initial placement test: Oxford Quick Placement test if it's only 60 questions. The CPE is similar to taking IELTS. |
