Happy holidays.
What is your nationality? Do you have any publications to go with your education and experience?
What countries interest you at the moment outside Europe?
What sort of family would you be taking with you? |

How about other places in the Middle East? that's usually where the money is, besides Korea. |

Honestly, I don't know. I've seen job offers on Dave's that are about 2500 to 3500 dollars, but I've also HEARD of people making 5k USd a month. I guess it depends. I would suppose that the first job you got would pay lower becuase yo uhave no ME experience, but after that you could make more.
Saudi seems good though: can't beat free housing, free education, paid vacation, free flights, settlement allowance, free car, bonuses galore, shipping allowance. . . .
Keep in mind that a couple places in the ME pay for housing and education, so while you might not get paid heaps and heaps, you won't have so many expenses.
If your wife wants a job, she could get one. I'm just not sure how. She's have to find the equivlant of Dav'es for pharmaists. Is she Czech or British? |

Government colleges and universities in the UAE offer the same benefits except for a free car and bonuses galore, unless you mean the end-of-service gratuity (normally the equivalent of one month's salary for each year worked). Cars can, however, be bought at reasonable prices and petrol is very cheap (IMO).
Your wife might be able to work as a pharmacist here, but note that most pharmacist positions are filled by Indians or non-Gulf Arabs. Not sure if there's some kind of regulation as far as that goes, but I've never seen a 'Western' pharmacist here - though they could exist! |

The OP already said Saudi was out, and with a family, I can understand why. (And without a family, I can understand why!) Those benefits may be nice, but his wife can say goodbye to her freedom. Can't drive, can't socialize with other men, must cover herself in public... Sure, some people can/do manage, but from what I've heard... well, there are some things that are more important than money and job benefits.
Oman is quite pleasant. Not quite as high a salary (although I've also heard/read that salaries in KSA aren't always as high as people imagine them to be), but A LOT nicer of an environment for women. Some places provide educational allowances, but as the kids age the international school tuition increases.
I've never seen a western pharmacist here, either.
