You can also say something similar in German - .. und einen guten Rutsch.

I lived one year in Luxembourg.

Leichtseburger is a bit of a mix of German and French. It requires lots of overt spit to pronounce properly and even the locals consider it rather ugly in comparison to French OR German Surprised

On my first trip to Europe in 1974, I flew on Icelandic Airlines and spent a couple of days in Luxembourg City before going on to London. I don't remember what language I used to communicate, maybe bits and pieces of the French I had learned in college. It's logical that the local language would be a mixture of German and French considering its location. Is everyone there multi-lingual? What language is used in the schools?

P.S. The correct translation of "Navidad" is "Christmas", not "Nativity". "Nativity" is "natividad".

Yeah, most Leitzeburgers speak both French and German, in addition to the local lingo. French is the language of education. English comes in a very weak fourth. You probably used French Very Happy

Yeah - they are also prolific and rather unaware smokers - my favourite jackets were all-too-often decorated with both spittle and cigarette burns Confused
