Hello Forum - I have a few questions I was hoping you could help me with.

I am finishing up a 4-year B.A. Honours Specialization in Second Language Teaching / Min. Linguistics from the University of Ottawa, and I am debating whether or not to apply for and complete "teacher's college". Teacher's College, in Ontario, is essentially how teachers get their certification to teach K-12, via a 1-year B.Ed.

I am already planning a few (1-3) years in Korea and Japan, and I'd like to know what type of reception I can expect in Hong Kong after that. Obviously, NET appears to be the most desirable, so I'd like to know if placement is feasible.

If placed, what sort of salary could I expect with my credentials and a few years experience? I understand Hong Kong pays its qualified teachers much better than random 4-year degree holders with no certification, correct?

My advice:

Yes, get your QTS - you won't regret it. And yes, HK pays those with QTS much, much better.

With QTS and a couple of years' experience under your belt I'd say you stand a good chance of getting onto the NET programme, but there are no guarantees (do a search on this forum for lots of related tales). Assuming you were taken on, your starting salary as a fully qualified teacher with a couple of years experience, including the special allowance, would (I think) be about HK$35,000 per month. (You also get a 15% gratuity at the end of the two year contract.)

That sounds like a plan.

What types of jobs should I look for in Korea/Japan? Is experience in Public Schools (EPIK/JET) more valuable than experience in Private Institutes?

Yes. The NET programme will recognise EPIK or JET as f/t relevant experience, but may be dubious about private language schools. And anyway, EPIK and JET offer much better jobs.
