In my case, the waishiban is saving the physical exam fee by postponing it until the next contract renewal.

The FAO here tried to postpone my health exam until right before the resident permit expired, but I insisted that we do it when the old one expired. I'm not going to take any chances on being here illegally (again; long story, doesn't belong on this thread).

You started this thread, John, so no worries. It's all about the medical and whether we can get axed. Now, my waishiban just took the reins from the previous waishiban, so perhaps she doesn't know about the relationship between having the medical booklet and maintaining a resident visa. Now you got me thinking I should light a fire under her desk.

I don't think I've ever seen a medical booklet for me. I know I have had medicals done, gotten the results on paper, but never have I seen a medical booklet for me.

Maybe they have one tucked away in the office and I just don't know about it.

I'll ask tomorrow, cause now I'm curious. I leave in March so it really doesn't matter to me if mine is expired or not.
