Hello,

I was hoping someone could offer me some guidance on a good place to combine teaching English and working in the outdoors in South America.

I'm a CELTA qualified English teacher and my partner is an outdoors tourism worker (rafting / kayaking / climbing etc etc etc).

We know South America has fantastic opportunities for both of these careers - the problem has been combining them! All the good English teaching positions seem to be in the city and the outdoors are obviously in smaller towns by rivers etc - can anyone offer us insight as to a paradise where we can combine the two.

Names of schools / tourist operators would be much appreciated.

Thanks very much

Emma and Blake

Thanks for the reply - we are looking into these company's.

Does anyone else have any ideas?
We have researched that the best places are out of the main cities, so if anyone knows of any schools by rivers...or in small villages???

Any advice would be very appreciated

In Mexico most tourist jobs are filled by Mexicans, The foreigners that do land jobs usually make survival wages at best, perhaps $400 US per month. I doubt that South America is much different.
