I do wonder if language schools are now raising their salaries accordingly, seeing as any teacher that passes through their doors now has to be as qualified as an international school teacher. Why on earth would anybody apply for a language school job in Indo otherwise? |

I know when I return I won't be going to a Language school again. Otherwise what would have been the point in me going home to get QTS.
Nope I'm aiming for International Schools (high end nat +) all the way.
Language school = not enough money, not enough holiday time and rubbish hours but easier work.
International Schools = a lot better pay and benefits such as decent housing, holidays, generally better working conditions, finishing before it's dark. Down side a lot more work is involved - planning, preparation and duties so the holidays are well deserved.
I'm sorry most people that have QTS, with or without CELTA's as well, are going to choose to work at International schools.
Saying that having looked at recent job posting a lot aren't asking for a degree in English or Education. They are just asking for the standard CELTA + degree. |
