I will be visiting Hanoi next week on vacation. Would love to meet up with expat teachers regarding a possible move to VN in the future. First round is on me! Please pm me and perhaps we could meet up. I will be staying in the Old Quarter.

Not saying this is the situation with your networking request, but you might be wondering why there are no takers yet.
case in point the last time I agreed to talk with someone sight unseen, who had been referred to me through a friend someone networking and wanted to know what life was like for teachers here, it didnt turn out very well.- I spoke with him on the phone for a while and he had all sorts of q's about schools etc. How much we make, what life is like, and said he used to be a psychologist, but had quit to become and esl teacher in asia. Saying he wanted to know to be a teacher. he had a brittish accent but said he was from usa, and the next morning bright and early I received a call from student loan collection services on my mobile in Vietnam.
i also saw this fellow again out and about because I referred him to a music jam , where he wanted to meet more foreigners and network as he called it. He showed up with a digeree doo, made of PVC pipe and didnt look authentic except for it was quite long .It sounded surreal among the rocking blues, but they gave him a mic for his one note. It didnt look liek a real digeree doo at all. It looked like plumbing pipe. I hid in the shadows, uneasy about the coincidence of the early morning collection agent phone call after his telephone call the night before.
My point is we meet all kinds here. Are they bounty hunters? wandering digeree doo players? or what?
