One hears good and bad about both of them actually. Of all the hinterland colleges that use recruiters, Nizwa seems to be one of the more stable.

Nizwa seems pretty good, townwise, compared to other places in Oman, speedy access to Muscat, Pizza hut and hotels with watering holes in the town, can anyone tell me what the golden tulip is like in Nizwa? I stayed at the one in Seeb and wasn't too impressed, no included wifi...Oman needs to learn from Europe and Asia in this respect, very noisy, and overpriced for what it was...the only good part was the cold fosters on tap by the rather average pool area and the sunshine....is nizwa (hotelwise) ok?

I wouldn't expect a big improvement from Seeb. Nizwa isn't that large, and pretty conservative. One doesn't go to Oman for the nightlife... Cool

As a single bloke, what would be my chances of dating a cute philipino gal...I know i'm testing the waters with this one Rolling Eyes

TBH, I guess I could muddle through without the girls, but beer and good food, certainly not, is there a *ahem* friendly Indian who sells adult drinks *cough*

Ok, maybe the girls part was stupid, but the booze part is not, at least in a certain desert town where the tumbleweeds blow freely in the occasional dust devil (or djinn according to the students...the old man and the tied down tree legend, expat locals will surely know this place without a name!)

It's fairly easy to get a liquor license. You'd have to come into Muscat to do it, though, and come to Muscat to go booze shopping. But there's no reason why you should have to do without.

There are also plenty of single gals around, but obviously if you have your heart set on a particular nationality, you have fewer options.

I've been to the booze shop in Ruwi (?) but I didn't have a licence. I am referring to the Indian guys who sell it under the counter, so to speak, I used to get a case or two of Turkish lager off one bloke last time...
