|

Hi all
I'm currently teaching in Korea and am moving to Spain in April to continue working as a teacher. I'm an EU citizen so visa issues aren't a problem. I have been researching various accredited teaching courses which are intensive 1 month duration. It seems that CELTA and Trinity have the monopoly regarding the course acceptance by companies offering employment. I recently stumbled upon a course in Tarragona by a crowd named Anglo Centres. It looks good, is accredited by College of Teachers in Ldn and is 150 hours in duration.
My question is; will this be as widely accepted as CELTA etc? a question which I don't expect to receive an unbised answer from course providers.
Cheers

CELTA, Trinity, and SIT are the most well-known /recognised and in that order..
BUT, basically any course that has 120hours and 6 of practice teaching should be ok. Yours sounds fine IF it also has a practice teaching component.
That being said, in Europe (I believe) CELTA is the best bet? Maybe peopel in Europe have some input. |

A generic cert that is on-site and includes the requisite practice teaching component will be recognised by most employers, though you may need to explain that it's equivalent to a CELTA or other big-name cert. The big advantage of the name brands is their recognisability at first sight. |
